I have come to the realization that people will lie to you, in order for you to stop asking. I have decided that if I have ever invited someone to an event or asked for a signature on a petition and the person doesn’t honor their word to accept, then I am going to remove that person from my contacts and delete them from my Facebook friends list.

Recently, I asked this person to sign my petition. Now this was only after she did not respond to my Facebook request to contact me, nor did she respond to a text message that I sent her. I called her one evening, and asked if I could stop by to obtain her signature. Her words “this is not a good time; I have the grandbaby and there are toys all over the floor”. Like I told her, you are talking to a great-grandmother, but I politely said OKAY. I then asked her to let me know when a good time would be for me to stop by, and I never heard from her.

My thinking, if you don’t want to sign my petition, then just say so, my feelings would not be hurt. Anyway, I am moving on and deleting those that lie.
