I went to the opening session, and I almost froze to death. I think this is my last time volunteering to be on the Sergeant-at-Arms committee. The room was just way too cold. After about 5 hours the meeting ended, and I went for lunch and then took a very long nap.
It has been good being out these past few days and I think that I will start taking these mini vacations going forward. I have another one scheduled for August.
It has been a little over a month since Mama died and I think I am doing okay. I spoke to a couple of sorority sisters who have lost their mother, and both say just take my time for grieving. I was blessed that Mama lived for 97 years, and she lived to see 4 generations. And Mama is in no more pain, and for that I am relieved that she did transition.
