Do me a favor, if you are a Person of Color, read the platforms of the Democrat and Republican parties as that is what each candidate will end up taking as their platform when each wins their respective nomination.
A bit of history, if you read the 1952 Republican platform it is almost identical to the 2019 Democratic platform. Each party transformed during the late ’50’s through the ’80’s. I can assure you that the current Republican party would be glad to see it’s Black Republican’s back in chains, but because of the time the Republican party tolerates People of Color.
Now I am not going to state emphatically that the Democratic party is 100% for People of Color, but within that party you do have an opportunity to be heard as well as seen. In my opinion if a Black person is a Republican it is because of a specific issue, such as, opposed to abortion, opposed to affordable healthcare, pissed at President Obama because he was not a staunch Department of Defense supporter.
Please I urge you to review EACH candidates individual platform and see how it aligns with the party’s platform. And don’t attack me, name call because I believe that for my family’s sake that the Democratic Party’s platform is more beneficial for them to not end up homeless.
