The counting of ballots has consumed our attention for the past four days, and for the most part, America is tired of the waiting. There is hope that something today an announcement will be made giving Biden/Harris more Electoral College points, or it will announce they have won the election. There will be some recounts due to the closeness of the count.
I am still processing the fact that millions of American’s voted to reelect #45. After all his lies, his mocking, his disrespect, his excessive golf days, the fact that he was impeached, and the fact that he knew COVID-19 was deadly and did nothing. I am not at the point ready to ask any of his followers why they continue to follow him. I am also not understanding why he received votes from Black/Brown Americans. This man took children from their parents, put babies in cages, and there are 545 children under the age of 5 that will never see their biological parents again. Yet millions voted to reelect him.
I just can’t process that information, and it is depressing. These few days, I have just wanted to retreat to a safe place, but I know that is not possible. I will have to find the energy to accept that America has more racists that what I thought, we have individuals that continue to vote against their own interest, and we have People of Color that just don’t get it. The current Administration has done nothing that I can see for the good of America. I am tired.
